SONG JUNHYUK MATH LAB · AI Mathematics Content Lab

Math problems into data. Data into textbooks and classes.

We connect a past-exam and textbook question bank, AI classification, verified solutions, automated textbook publishing and student management into one AI pipeline for Korean mathematics education — tested first in our own classes, then offered to academies and instructors.

Pipeline

From one problem to a class

  1. 01

    Collect

    Past exams, textbooks, school tests

  2. 02

    Extract

Vision AI → digital problems + LaTeX

  3. 03

    Classify

    Type, importance, difficulty

  4. 04

    Solve

    Two independent verifications

  5. 05

    Publish

    Typeset books & exams (HWPX/PDF)

  6. 06

    Teach

    Marking, error review, reports

01

Problem Database

A single photo or PDF page becomes digital problems, including math expressions, stored in one question bank.

In operation
  • Vision extraction of stems, choices, tables and figures, with formulas converted to LaTeX
  • Batch queue for 695 past exam sets: extraction → answer matching → classification
  • Fingerprint comparison automatically blocks duplicate problems
02

Classification Engine

Every problem is classified on the same scale, so any new workbook fits into one searchable system.

In operation
  • Three-level, 115-node taxonomy (unit → type → sub-type)
  • S/A/B/C importance grades from frequency and exam-trend scoring
  • Killer / semi-killer difficulty tiers and tracking of commonly missed types
03

Verified Solutions

Step-by-step solutions in the lab's consistent house style, self-checked by AI and confirmed by an instructor.

In operation
  • Each problem is solved twice independently; it is marked verified only when the answers agree
  • Disagreements trigger a third solve; unresolved items go to instructor review
  • Long-reasoning runs tested on the hardest CSAT-level problems
04

Automated Publishing

Select problems and the main book, homework and answer key are typeset to HWPX and PDF.

In operation
  • Automatic page assembly with quality gates for overflow and broken layout
  • 30-question mock exams generated to a target easy / medium / hard mix
  • Eight in-house textbook series are produced with this pipeline
05

Classroom

Assignments, marking, error logs and grades in one place, fed back into lesson design.

In operation
  • Assign → auto-mark → error log; missed problems reappear in the next test
  • Students, parents and the instructor see the same progress records
  • Monthly progress-report drafts that the instructor reviews before sending

How we use AI

AI builds it. An instructor confirms it.

Today

We build our product and backend with Claude Code on a Claude Max plan — the Next.js/Supabase classroom platform, the content pipeline and the publishing tools. AI also drives extraction, classification and solution drafting in that pipeline.

Next

Integrate the Claude API directly into the pipeline — vision extraction, taxonomy classification, solution drafting and independent re-verification — and evaluate math accuracy with structured outputs and batch processing.

Oversight

Every explanation and textbook is checked by an instructor before it reaches students. Low-confidence classifications and mismatched solutions are routed to human review automatically.
